Marple Athletic Under 11s put two teams into the Stockport Metro League's annual indoor tournament at the Armitage Centre at Manchester University. The boys were grateful of the opportunity to play again after so many postponements recently.

To cut a very long story short, and a long day, the A team got to the semi final after a storming morning. The B team did well but drew too many games to get through the group stages. It wasn't the quality or commitment, but the unfamiliarity with the rules - no entering the area - head height, slide tackles and the unwritten rule that frequent use of elbows are fine if you play for a certain team (not ours).

 Anyway, the semi final was going well and despite some nice passing and movement Marple went out 2-1 to Stockport Junior Blues.
